Baby Engle's First Gifts

It is so early but we have already recieved some cute, gender neutral, things for the Baby Engle that I just had to share!

One of Shaun's very sweet co-workers got us the SOFTEST bunny for Baby Engle. I thoguht that was such a thoughtful gift for anyone having a baby, boy or girl. What little one would not like to cuddle up with a super soft bunny! Thank you very much Leslie!

Grandma, I mean Noni Kathy, got baby Engle the two cute cuddly outfits below. The yellow outfit says  "I love Mommy" and the red outfit says "My First Christmas". I LOVE the little hat with the yellow outfit and the reindeer bootys and toosh on the christmas outfit. So cute. Cant wait to meet our little one and play dress up! Thanks Noni Xo

10w3d!

Happy Friday All!

Baby Engle is officially 10 weeks and 3 days old! 207 days to go!..omg. He/She is about 1 .2 inches long and weighs less than a quarter ounce. In the coming weeks, the baby will DOUBLE in size! This is said to be the beginning of the fetal period when the baby's tissues and organs rapidly grow and mature. Baby Engle is forming tiny finger nails and fuzz like hair on his/her skin. The baby is swallowing fluid, bending and kicking up a storm, too bad I cant feel it yet. The Dr did say he/she was a squirmy one.. lots of energy like his/her dad!

As you can see from the pictures (sorry for the poor quality), I have a pooch. Not a cute baby bump but a little fat pooch. Apparently my uterus has graduated to the size of a grapefruit now which is leaving my pants a little tight. I don't think anyone can tell at this point but I sure can. The days of sucking it in are long gone.. it's all hanging out now, but for a good reason. This  is the awkward stage where it just looks like I have gone overboard on the bean burritos and cupcakes. I told my grandpa today that I feel like I am faking it because i'm not really showing yet. Every time someone congratulates me they stare at my stomach, which is just natural, but at this point I feel like doing a dance to divert their eyes from my pooch like situation happening. Oh well, this too shall pass.. trying to enjoy each phase.

How Far Along: 10 Weeks 3 Days
Total Weight Gain: Nothing Really Yet
Sleep: Still sneeking in some shut eye whenever I get a chance!.. car, bathroom.. you name it! ;-)
Best Moment this week: eating vegetables! finally got them down.
Miss Anything: SUSHI & Wine.. still.
Movement: not yet ;-(
Food Cravings: bean and cheese burritos & cupcakes (salty & sweet- i thought it was supposed to be one or the other if you are having a girl or boy?!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: prenatal vitamins.. still, kale(way to healthy), leftovers (cant do it).
Gender: dont know yet! HESHE
Symptoms: sleepy, taste change, smelling everything, BLOATING..
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY..  Ok, a little moody at times (if you were to ask Shaun)
Looking forward to: our 12 week appt, ultrasound and to hopefully find out the sex! and starting to SHOW.

hugs, Tay.

Lil Baby Engle is 9 Weeks old and about an inch long today!
Baby, fetus at 9 weeks - BabyCenter
My BabyCenter.com Pregnancy App alerted me this morning with this picture and caption,

"All of his/her essential body parts are accounted for by now, though they will go through fine-tuning in the coming months..The heart is dividing into 4 chambers, the teeth are starting to form, the organs and muscles are kicking into gear and the eyes, mouth, nose, ears and nostrils are formed! Now that the baby's basic physiology is in place, he or she is poised for rapid weight gain."

First Prenatal Dr. Appt!

Good Morning!
So last night's appointment was VERY exciting. Unfortunately Shaun couldn't be there but he was on speaker phone to hear the good stuff. Mom and Paige (sis) went with me which was very special. The doctor went over what the next nine months will look like, asked me a bunch of questions then did the ultrasound. It was so cool to see the baby's heart pumping so rapidly ALREADY! And, we got to hear it! I think that was my favorite part.. It was even loud enough for Shaun to hear over the phone. So incredible. See the video  & pictures below.. I know it is hard to see/hear but you get the gist. SO exciting. Thanks for the video Paige! It is amazing how little the baby is yet how baby-like the features are already.. today is 8 weeks and the baby has formed weblike fingers and toes! He/She is only about the size of a kidney bean. It is amazing to realize that there really is a baby inside of me.. We can't wait for the next appt and to see/hear more! What an incredible experience this is.. already. I'm SO lucky to have an amazing husband like Shaun to share this with.

We are desperately trying to wait at least a couple more months before sharing this blog and the news with all the extended family, friends & work... it is so hard, I feel like I am in hiding. Can't wait to break the good news!

Thanks for stopping by and reading. Soon i'll start to post belly pics to doument my pregnancy growth! Time to take the prenatal vitamins.. ick!

We're Having A Baby!!

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!

                                                                     02.15.2012 POSITIVE!!

It was the day after Valentines day, I was a couple days late on my period and ran to the bathroom at 6am to pee on a stick since they say that is the best time. My stomach had butterflies as I waited for each line to show up. I had been having horrible cramping and just wasnt feeling like myself so my mind was set, I HAD to be pregnant... and my womanly instincts turned out to be right! I woke up the hubs waiving the stick at him, "Shaun!!! Shaun!! We are having a baby!". He lifted his head with a confused/still sleeping look on his face, smiled then buried his head and mumbled, "This is going to be a big year.." haha. He was right... he had
just landed a great new job with coca-cola and then we found out that we were pregnant!! Next on the list is finding a house before our lease is up in a couple months! So much to do but all of our prayers are being answered and we couldnt be more thankful!

When I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant (see pic above). We waited about a week or two before telling our families. We did goodie bags with "dirty" diapers, bottles  and cards in them
for my family and a newborn diaper with the date on it for Shaun's parents. Everyone was estatic.. we couldnt have asked for a better support system. We are SO blessed to have our amazing families with us every step as we start our next chapter as parents.

As far as symptoms go, I am feeling pretty good. Vegetables and well, food in general, doesn't sound or smell very appealing to me at this point. However, I am constantly hungry. In fact my stomach wakes me up in the morning because I am so hungry, which is wierd for me becuase I never even ate breakfast before. I am also extremely sleepy at all hours of the day. That said, I think I have got it pretty good because I have heard horror stories about this first trimester. Just crossing my finger this lasts through the next couple of weeks but that the baby still grows big and strong.

Our first Dr. Appt is tomorrow and we cannot be more excited to see the baby for the first time and hear the heartbeat hopefully! I will keep you posted on how the appt goes.. until then enjoy your loved ones & have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs, Tay.
