I could get more graphic with the symptoms but I will spare you, for those of you who are moms, you know ALL about the interesting changes your body goes through that you have absolutely no control over...
Ohh the joys of pregnancy ;-)
Baby Engle is about the size of a CANTALOPE, 10.5 ounces and 10 inches long head to toe. Week 19 (last week) I neglected to post but he was the size of a Mango. I can't believe it. He is now practicing swallowing and has taste buds. Everything is in the proper place now (ears, eyes, arms, legs etc.) and he is rapidly gaining weight. He is now covered in vernix (the white cheese-like coating which protects her skin from the amniotic fluid), which makes his skin have that baby-soft feel after he is born. I learned that at this point, the baby has already the established sleep patterns of a newborn and has a preferred sleep position. I thought that was so neat becuase I was just telling my mom the other day about how I have noticed that he is generally active while i'm going to bed, sleeps through the night (well, that I can feel), and wakes up with me active and ready for breakfast. Wouldn't that be great if that was in fact his sleeping pattern as a newborn! Crossing our fingers.. we will see!
On another note, I am obviously pregnant looking these days and find it interesting to see peoples reactions.. you would think they have never seen a pregnant woman before! Some people give me dirty looks, some look me up and down and some moms smile (I like them). I talked to my friend Becky who has a 10 month old (our handsom God son, Cannon) and she said that she got the same thing.. We think people think that we are "16 and pregnant". People are just mean! It is hard enough coping with the fact that you feel larger than a house and still have 5 months of growing to go. Sorry, venting.. just wierd.
On a happier note, we have our 20 Week appointment on Friday morning! The halfway checkup, ultrasound, measurements, blood draws etc. Shaun is going to this one and I can't wait for him to meet the Dr. and see his son again. We feel like we haven't seen him in soo long.. Hopefully we will get some updated pics of the lil guy to share ;-) Pretty confident but praying that everything is on track and that he is a healthy boy. I am anxious to see if he is in the "larger percentile" at this point, I wouldn't doubt it since he does have a big Daddy!
Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend and are having a wonderful week!
Thanks for reading! xo

4.5 Months!
The belly is growing fast.. but according to my scale, which may be broken (probably better that way), I still have not gained a pound. In the evenings after all meals and a very distended belly, i'm up a couple lbs.. but by morning, i'm back to the same weight. Wierd to me becuase I sure feel like I am lugging around a lot more than I used to, and eating a lot more.. well, fruit.
The BIG news this week is that I FINALLY started to feel him.. at first I wasn't sure of what I was feeling. One day I just started noticing "bubbles" or something lightly pressing on my lower abdomen.. so bizzare. But, then is started happening more and more when I was talking and drinking cold water.. finally I told my mom and she confirmed, "YEP, thats him!". Now that I know what i'm feeling and what to look for, I tend to notice it happening more and more and have started to figure out what really makes him kick and jump around. I feel like I am finally getting to know him a little.. SO NEAT!
Other news.. we got a baby bath tub & changing pad from Noni (Grandma Engle), are shopping for strollers, cord blood banks and looking into birthing classes. Fun stuff.. so much to think about and WAY too many options for everything baby these days. What happened to the days when there was just one stroller and that is what you bought and lived with?
I have been doing yoga a couple of times a week becuase my lower back & hips are killing me.. I thought it would be good to stretch, relax and get on a workout regimen that I could do throughout the whole pregnancy. The yoga instructors are very helpful and tailor (hehe) the practice to me and my
I think that is all for now! Have a great weekend..

NURSERY 1
I thought I would share one of the inspiration boards I have made for the nursery. We are thinking of doing grey & white stripes on the walls with yellow and navy accents in the room. We already have a buffet type piece that I painted white to look a lot like the changing table above, some navy/grey pillows and the chevron rug like above. We can't wait to find a home and start to see it all come to life. We think all the textures and patterns will make it such a fun room for Baby Engle to grow in.. yipee! What do you think?
Happy Momma's Day!
Have a great week. Gnight xo

WEEK 17
Well, the bump is out (how is that shot!? ha! wow) & the belly button is flat.
It is funny to look back on the pictures when we first found out we were pregnant and how big my belly is now! And, I still have 5 months to grow!?! Yikkees. I'm so happy I am documenting all of this for that reason.
The funniest part to me is that people who don't know me, like my yoga teachers.. don't believe me when I say I am 4 months pregnant. One of them said, "How far along did you say you were Taylor? Wow, you would never know it". HAHA! I just look down and laugh.. this is clearly not the normal me, but to others I guess I do not look that big.. go figure ;-)
Baby Engle is about 5 inches and the size of a BAKED POTATO.
His skeleton is turning from soft cartilage to bone. Bring on the baby fat!
Now is the time that I should really start packing on the lbs.. not much yet.
Not sure if im craving anything but I am sure loving Watermelon right now..
I should also start to feel the lil guy kick any day now..
Looking forward to the 20 week appointment when Shaun and I get to see him again!
Happy Friday!
And, more importantly HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the moms out there. I SO appreciate, now more than ever (already), what moms do everyday for their kids and families... even before we were all born! Super women.. I tell ya!
I cant wait to be one..

4 Months!
Happy Friday Ya'll!
Baby Engle had HIS :) four month check up on Wednesday and everything is moving along nicely..the doc measured my belly, listened to the heart beat and took blood. I haven't gained much weight but the baby bump is undeniably visible now. This week he is the size of an Avocado and weighs about 3.5 ounces. His facial features are becoming more defined, the eyes and ears are closer to their final position and his heart is pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day! Still anxiously waiting to feel the lil guy but we are just happy all is on track!
It is amazing to us that we are only a month away from the half-way point in this pregnancy. It seems like it is going so quickly yet so slow at the same time. I know these next 5 months will fly and we are trying to enjoy the last short months of our life as is, just US. It is crazy to think that it will never be just us again, for the rest of our lives. It makes me want to go out and do all of these crazy things (that I cant even do while pregnant) just to cross them off the bucket list. It is so hard to cherish moments like these when we don't know any different until they are gone (and we have an upset little one relying on us to keep them happy and healthy). But, we are doing our best to be aware and recognize this moment in time before it quickly slips away.
For now, we are really trying to focus on finding a home for this growing family to be. As I mentioned, it has been difficult. For example, we found a great house that we could totally see our family in and put an offer on it (second offer we have made).. only to find out that there are 22 other offers on the house! 22!? Thats the market in our price range right now.. no inventory and LOTS of competition including investors that are dropping cash and swooping up homes from under us. Again, we keep praying and we know that something will come up if and when it is meant to be.. it is just frusterating! Definately a test of patience.. which I have little of. I can't wait to get the keys to our first home and start making it OURs with a nursery for the little one and all. The day will come.. until then we keep hunting and crossing our fingers.
Hope you are all having a great week. Shaun, and all the other men in the family, are out in Palm Springs for their annual Nation Scramble Golf Tournament that he helps his brother coordinate every year.. this is their FAVORITE time of year and the boys have been working hard to make it another successful tournament. I hope all the men are having a great, safe time and get home quickly! Maybe one day baby Engle will play in it with his pops, uncles & gpas.. that will be fun :) Shoot low boys! xo
Until next time..
Hugs, Tay.
